Allied Vehicles is the UK market leader in the manufacture and supply of wheelchair accessible transport solutions. A new position has become available for a Buyer to join our Operations team. You will procure materials to support production needs, doing this in the most cost-effective manner aligned to a cost, quality and deliver approach.
Main duties of the role are:
· Develop and implement procurement plans
· Supplier management and development
· Identify and manage new supplier opportunities
· Manage existing accounts to ensure the best price, whilst reviewing alternatives
· Tender for new and existing supply
· Monitor build schedules in advance of production and report risks
· Ensure suppliers deliver to agreed timescales
· Creation and updating of purchase orders
· Plan/re-schedule parts in line with build plan changes and customer
To be effective in this role, you will have purchasing knowledge aligned to key principles of procurement, continuous improvement, and root cause corrective action and will be an enthusiastic self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure tight deadlines are met. You will be comfortable managing projects from start to finish and be a confident communicator. We would expect you to have proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing business support environment and have supplier relationship management.
Hours of work are Monday – Wednesday 7am – 6pm and Thursday 7am – 5.30pm and the salary is £40,000 per annum.
