We are now recruiting for a Group HSE Manager to join our People and Compliance Team.
You will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of a best practice health, safety & welfare culture in line with relevant legislation and business objectives, ensuring that the Company complies with its statutory obligations.
Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8am-4.30pm and the salary is up to £60k per annum DOE.

The main duties of the role are:
- Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the business, keeping up to date with any changes in legislation
- Build a strong, collaborative, partnership approach with directors and operational managers
- Ensure that all “assessments” as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same
- Provision of management information with analysis of trends driving HSE action plans.
- Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports as required
- Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and report trends/develop actions as appropriate
- Conduct fire drills and fire alarm systems checks
- Mentor and coach HSE committee members, managers and employees as required
To be effective in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience of working in a similar role
- IOSH Chartered Member status
- Knowledge of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- The ability to influence, negotiate and persuade at all levels across the business
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations
Previous experience of working within the automotive industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
