We are now recruiting for a Yard Operative to join our De-Fleet department.
You will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement, inspection, and storage of vehicles within the yard. The role ensures all arriving vehicles are checked for damage, accurately recorded, and parked in designated storage areas to support smooth operational flow.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm and the salary is £12.98 per hour. As a Living Wage employer, this hourly rate will increase to £13.45 from 1 May 2026.

The main duties of the role are:
- Receive vehicles from suppliers in a safe and controlled manner.
- Prepare and issue vehicles to inspection and valet as specified by the schedule in a timely manner to meet KPI.
- Ensure all received vehicles are undamaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for, any significant damage recorded.
- Delivery and collection of vehicles is controlled and conducted without damage. Outgoing product is inspected and placed on transporter clean and damage free.
To be effective in this role, you will have:
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.
